    VJ the prognosticator...

In talking about the upcoming Korean monster movie "The Host", which involves a monster being spawned out of the Han river and causing mayhem and madness, I made a joke a few weeks ago that the film probably blames the USA for the monster, saying that the US put toxins in the river and created monsters.  Well, I just read the review and guess what, dear readers?  VonJackass was correct!  Rare but true...

""The Host" is also set on the Han River. A mysterious creature appears on the terrace land of the water. It has been mutated by toxic chemicals that the U.S. army poured into the river. "

The entire review can be found here.  I urge you to read both of the film reviews...just for laughs.

Now just imagine the uproar in Korea if either of the scenarios in those films were reversed. Just for historical sake, James Bond "Die Another Day" caused protests and boycotts of US goods because it showed a car falling out of an airplane into a farmer's field in Korea.  And everyone knows there are no farms here.  Farming is dirty work.

I haven't talked to anyone who has seen the movie, but I get the feeling that the audience actually would feel sympathy for the monster and "understand it" and let the distain fall squarely on USA.  Check out this review as well where the editorial draws similarities between a NK film and "the Host".  Classic parallel...

Yeah yeah...but it's just a movie.  The monster is easier to hate if it can be blamed on the US. I don't think that would play into the victim routine as well.  It's all about the $$$$$$$ .  Plus I reserve judgement until I actually see the movie.

Although, could you imagine the outrage Hollywood produced a similar movie?  Those shifty Koreans and the Hyundai plant poured xxxx gallons into the Mississippi river and created a monster!
(that was blatently ripped from some comment from some blog somewhere regarding this...I cannot for the life of me remember where tho)

I suggest that you should change your job into a prophet.
    haha, don't mind ,just joking.
So I can see from your description this new film is a little
interrelated to wars happened in the past between US and Korea? Or it isn't  real one ?
The monster was brought out by chemistry matters left by US,but it is only a fancy for entertainment.

Um, but in China, some people call for to reject Japanese products in deed.I don't agree this method.
I think if you want to beat the opponents ,so you should to make yourself stronger than them. Not by resisting civilization,it is silly to do that. You can learn their advanced technology and then one day when you are powerful enough ,the enemy won't tease again.

Hope your second prodict won't come ture, because the car is inculpable. And the economy development is innocent, yes?
